Welcome to your 'Classical Madhya Pradesh' tour! Upon arrival at airport / railway station in Agra, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. On arrival, check into your hotel.
Later in the day, visit the famous Taj Mahal, built by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 AD for his beloved Queen Mumtaz (closed on Friday). Also visit the Agra Fort containing the royal residential palaces, the Halls of Public and Private Audience, and Dayal Bagh. Return to the hotel after sightseeing.
Overnight Hotel – Agra (B)
After breakfast, you will drive to Gwalior. The city and the fortress have served as the centre of several of historic northern Indian kingdoms. On arrival, check into your hotel.
Later in the afternoon, do the sightseeing of Gwalior Fort. The fort stands on an isolated rock overlooking the town and contains a number of historic buildings. It is one of the biggest forts in the country.
Overnight Hotel – Gwalior (B)
Today, after breakfast, visit the 9th century Teli Ka Mandir and the 11th century Sas Bahu ka Mandir. Later drive to Orchha, en route visit the Phool Mahal, Dinma Hardaul's Palace, Sunder Mahal and the cenotaphs built in the memory of the rulers of Orchha. Orchha is in the Tikamgarh district and lies on the Betwa river. It was founded by the Bundela chief, Rudra Pratap Singh, who became the first King of Orchha and also built the Fort of Orchha. The Chaturbhuj Temple was built, during the time of Akbar, by the Queen of Orchha, while Raj Mandir was built by Madhukar Shah in the 16th century. On arrival at Orchha, check into your pre- booked hotel.
Later in the day, visit Jehangir Mahal, built by Raja Bir Singh Judeao. Also visit the Raj Mahal and Chaturbhuj Temple.
Overnight Hotel – Orchha (B)
After breakfast, proceed to Khajuraho. Khajuraho is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. It has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples, famous for their erotic sculptures. On arrival, check into your pre-booked hotel.
Later you will proceed for a temple tour and visit the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is the largest and most ornate Hindu temple in the medieval temple group found at Khajuraho. Also see the temples in the eastern and southern groups.
Overnight in Khajuraho (B)
After breakfast, proceed to Panna National Park, near to Ken River, with its deep gorges, tranquil valley and dense teak forests. If you are lucky you can spot tigers and panthers along with herds of chinkara, sambar and several other wildlife species. Note: Jungle safari can be done on direct payment basis.
The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
Overnight in Khajuraho (B)
Today, bid farewell to your 'Classical Madhya Pradesh' tour as you are transferred to airport in Khajuraho or railway station in Jhansi for your onward journey.
